Air Fryer Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Air Fryer Grilled Cheese Sandwich

It’s now official, Air Fryer is the winner of the most used appliance in our kitchen.

It’s fast, simple and easy with cleanup. And food achieve that crispy texture (and slight burnt effect for BBQ) with just a few spray of oil.

I use the Frylight Trio (sunflower oil, olive oil and butter oil) for most of my Air Fryer cooking depending on the ingredients, of course you don’t even need oil in many cases. According to Frylight, 1 spray of oil equals to 1 calorie and o.1g of fat, whereas 1 tsp of sunflower oil (4.5g) is 40 calories and 4.5g fat.

Here comes our simple breakfast sandwich with grilled cheese and egg, the cheese slice on top of the sandwich is crispy and golden, the one inside is melting, and I love the toastiness of the bread. No wonder they say, “no matter the hour (or age), grilled cheese sandwich is the pinnacle of crave-worthiness”!

Serves 2

Ingredients: 4 slices of toast, 4 slices of Leer Dammer Cheese Light (a Dutch semihard cheese made from cow’s milk), 2 eggs, 6 sprays of Frylight sunflower oil

Method:

  1. Spray the pan with sunflower oil, and fry the 2 eggs.
  2. Stack 1 fried egg and 1 slice of cheese on 1 piece of toast, and close it with another toast and 1 piece of cheese. Same for another sandwich.
  3. Air Fry the 2 sandwiches with 160 degree for 6 minutes.
